The Faculty Practice Organization maintains a repository or "data mart" of clinical, financial, and operations data. The purpose of this data mart is to provide the individual clinical departments the information needed for regular and ad-hoc reporting.

At its core, the Data Mart (DM) consists of a daily extraction from the APeX Clarity repository. Data extractions from APeX Clarity include Resolute Professional Billing, Cadence (Scheduling), OpTime (OR Scheduling) and a limited subset of Resolute Hospital Billing data. The DM also includes data from the legacy billing systems IDX and SMS, and clinic expense data from the accounting system (Dunn & Bradstreet).

On a monthly basis, details from the database are summarized and saved in the form of several multi-dimensional reporting "cubes", each cube addressing a different reporting function. A list of the cubes currently available can be found under the Analysis Studio directory.

The Faculty Practice Organization administers the database as well as the business intelligence (BI) tools users need to gain access to the data. The Decision Analytics Reporting Tool (DART) system is comprised of a few core components of the Cognos (IBM) Business Intelligence Suite of products.
